Fabric Shutters - The New Window Covering Solution
A common question we get everyday is regarding sliding arcadia doors. What
do we have besides standard white plastic vertical blinds to cover a sliding
door?
Well, we have several excellent solutions for sliding patio doors including
fabric vertical blinds, vertical cellular shades called Vertiglides,
vertical sheer draperies and also a new solution, Fabric Shutters.
We have found that our Fabric Shutters are a perfect solution for customers
looking for a new, fresh look without breaking the bank. Fabric Shutters
are made of furniture grade wood framing but unlike typical louvered
shutters, fabric is inserted into the panels to provide you with light
filtering privacy.
Our Fabric Shutters are offered in several frame and fabric styles.
Operation of these Shutters is either Bi-Folding or By-Pass (Sliding). And
best of all, our Fabric Shutters can be mounted outside of the window
openings (Sliding Doors) or inside the window sills (minimum 3" depth).

PLANTATION SHUTTERS WITH A SOUTHWEST DESIGN
Are you looking for a southwest window covering decoration? Or maybe you
have knotty woodwork or cabinets in your home. Either way, our Knotty Alder
and Knotty Basswood plantation shutters may be your perfect window covering
solution.
Many home builders in recent years have been utilizing knotty wood products
to complete the home interior. Possibilities include flooring, floor base
boards, interior and exterior doors, interior trim work, as well as kitchen
and bathroom cabinets. Have you considered complementing your interior
decorating style with rustic looking knotty shutters?
Knotty Alder and Knotty Basswood shutters will provide more wood character
then typical painted wood shutters. The knots will be scattered throughout
the shutter louvers, rails and framing. Some of the knots will be smaller
while others may be a little bit larger providing a knot "opening" though
the entire louver.
Our knotty shutters may also be stained to match other woodwork in the home.
But, maybe the best looking knotty shutter is the natural wood color that
has a clear finish or light stain to enhance the knots.
Our southwest knotty shutters are available with a variety of framing
options to complete the look of your new window covering. You may also
choose between a 3.5" or 4.5" louvers as well as optional divider
rails...all at no additional charge.
Sound interesting? Please give us a call to schedule your FREE in-home
consultation. We measure your windows for free and bring our working
samples for you to view in your home. And as always, installation of your
new shutters and blinds is always FREE as well.

It's that time of year in Arizona. HOT, HOT, HOT!
What are Solar Screens?
Solar Screens are the most effective window treatments that you can apply to
your home for lowering energy bills by stopping the heat transfer through
your windows and doors while still maintaining your view.
Solar Screens are exterior full-length screens that cover the entire glass
of your windows and doors. Solar Screens work in three different ways:
- Shading Coeffiency - the amount of shade created between the solar screen
and exterior pane of glass.
- Reflectivity - reflecting the direct sun's rays of light off of the
screen, defusing the amount of direct sun's rays.
- Absorption - the heat that is absorbed and held into the screen material
itself and then dispersed back into the air away from the glass.
Why Twitchell Textilene Screens?
Since 1928, Twitchell has offered only the highest quality custom fabrics
for the world's leading manufacturers.
Textilene is made of PVC coated woven polyester non-stretch yarn.
Textilene is flame retardant, heat sealable, mildew resistant and stable
under either hot or cold temperatures. Applications for TEXTILENER include
indoor/outdoor casual furniture, umbrellas, safety fabrics (including orange
safety vests), barriers, erosion control, cots, window shades, solar
screens, and more.
Textilene is only made out of woven polyester because of its proven
durability and performance qualities, as compared to fiberglass based solar
screen products. Fiberglass based products do not have the ability to hold
their color and the stability of the product itself over a reasonable period
of time.
We do not use fiberglass in any of our solar screening products.
Twitchell Textilene is the #1 solar screening on the market today for
quality, durability, and performance for the Arizona Heat.
Sound interesting? Give Shutter Envy a call today to schedule your free
in-home consultation. And don't wait too long. Textilene sunscreens
qualify for the SRP and APS energy rebate as well as the federal IRS energy
tax credit.

Shutter Envy Talks About Shutters!
Our blog post today will discuss the various types of plantation shutters
and the choices that are available.
It is commonly believed that shutters were first used in ancient Greece in
order to provide light control, ventilation and protection in that tropical
environment. Those first shutters were likely constructed with fixed
louvers made out of marble. Eventually, the concept of shutters spread
throughout the Mediterranean, and the form began to change. Wood started to
replace marble as a more suitable material for production, and designers
started developing movable louver shutters to allow varying amounts of light
and air into a room.
Today, plantation shutters are a great way to cover your windows while
adding to your home fashion decor! Shutters today are available in many
types of materials including Vinyl, or PVC (Plastic), various woods
including Basswood and Alder, and man made woods including Composite.
For installation in Arizona, basswood shutters has been very popular for
many years. Basswood shutters, when kiln-dried properly, are a very good
solution to blocking the high heat in the summer months while keeping out
the cold air in the winter months. Basswood shutters offer a large variety
of painted and stained colors for you to choose.
In more recent years, a very popular shutter solution has been composite
wood shutters. Composite wood shutters (MDF with a Polypropylene finish)
are perfect for Arizona with the extreme summer heat. Composite wood
shutters will not dry out, thus, more resistent to warping. And the
polypropylene finish is more durable then a painted or stained shutter. The
one limitation with composite wood shutters...they are available in only
three shades of white or off-white colors. For many consumers looking for a
white shutter, composite wood shutters will be a perfect solution.
Regardless of which type of shutter is right for you, please keep Shutter
Envy in mind. We would love to meet with you and demonstrate why over 2,500
customers have purchased their shutters from us. And as always, you will
receive a FREE in-home consultation, FREE measurement and FREE installation
of your window covering products.
